Baseford Hall Miners Welfare Notts

Don't know where to start!
Such a warm welcome from Shirley ( concert Sec),
in-fact from everyone there. What spoilt it for us was
the db meter. We spent all night watching the damn
thing. Watching instead of relaxing. We've been in the
business long enough to know what is a reasonable
sound level. Those nasty machines can damage our
equipment!
We want quality, not volume. It is very difficult with
a 'live' drummer on stage ( and I use the phrase loosely!)
You can't turn drums down! I suspect that the disco next door
was louder than us.
Anyways it was a great night in spite of that.
Happy birthday to Doris who was 80 years young
and disappointed that no one got up to dance.
Even our wives didn't get up- very unusual.
Shirley........ keep practicing the jokes, especially
the delivery. I want to see an improvement the
next time we see you!

Anyone interested, we are playing at
Rainworth in a charity concert on
Friday 16th October, along with six other bands
and a ladies choir.
see www.wuduslad.co.uk for details.
